Cubs take part in lots of interesting and challenging activities โ achieving anything they set their minds to, and having lots of fun along the way.
Being a Cub
Cub Scouts in the UK are part of the The Scout Association and are designed for children aged around 8โ10ยฝ. Itโs a fun, structured way for young people to try new things, build confidence, and make friends in a safe environment.
What Cub Scouts is about:
- 🧭 Adventure & fun: outdoor activities, games, camps, and challenges
- 🤝 Friendship & teamwork: children work in small groups called โSixesโ
- 🏆 Skills & badges: learning practical skills and being recognised for achievements
- 🌍 Community & values: encouraging kindness, respect, and helping others
- 🚀 Personal growth: building confidence, independence, and resilience
For parents:
- A safe, welcoming environment run by trained volunteers
- Encourages children to try new experiences they might not get elsewhere
- Helps develop life skills that support school and beyond
- Flexible and inclusiveโopen to all backgrounds and abilities
For children, it feels like adventure and play. For parents, itโs a positive way to help their child grow in confidence while having a great time.
